Being a dentist,I thought this should be my very first post.
Your smile says a lot about you.
It hints towards your personality, your nature and sometimes might also reveal what you had in your lunch π.
Your oral cavity decides the fate of your other body cavities in a lot of ways.
Everything you put in your body goes through your mouth first.
Here are the some of the tips you can follow for a healthy mouth and clean teeth:-
1. BRUSHING your teeth harder will not make them any more whiter than they already are.
Use a light hand while brushing and a technique that actually works( blog post on that soon).
2. KNOW WHEN TO BRUSH.
Without going into the very details, I just want to mention that you should at least brush twice a day after having your meals.
Brushing before meals doesn't make any sense.
3. RINSE RINSE AND RINSE
Cannot stress enough on the importance of rinsing. You eat or drink something (other than water) rinse afterwards.
4. LISTEN TO YOUR ORAL CAVITY
YES PLEASE!!! Start giving your mouth the same importance you give to your other body parts. Pay attention to any abnormality however mild you think it may be.
5. GO SEE A DENTIST
You actually need to make it a habit to go see your dentist regularly. A simple cavity can lead to a whole lot of problems and once a tooth is lost, your bank account will definitely curse you then.
These steps will only help you get a headstart towards oral hygiene.
Do consult your dentist before resorting to anykind of advanced measures.
